Man dies of electric shock in Delhi, police arrest wife and cousin
Things went in reverse gear when the brother of the victim found a damaging chat between Karan wife and his maternal uncle Rahul Dev on Instagram.

In West Delhi, a 36-year-old man, whose passing was initially explained due to the reason of a shock, was killed by his wife and her cousin, with whom they were having an extra-marital affair in Uttam Nagar.
The victim known as Karan Dev was taken to the Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital by his wife, Sushmita, who stated that he had received an accidental electric shock. Karan was pronounced dead and his family dismissed a postmortem since they thought the incident was not an accident in an NDTV report.

Police, however, gave their insistence on the autopsy due to the relatively young age of the victim and the details of the cause of his death. At the Harinagar Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, post-mortem examination was done on the body.
A few days after, the littler brother of this victim, Kunal Dev, had, by accident, come across an incriminating conversation between the wife of Karan and his paternal cousin, Rahul Dev, through social media, the turn of investigation changed abruptly. Kunal saved the conversation as a video and laid it before the police on July 16, NDTV reported.
The messages showed that on the night of July 12, the accused had compounded 15 sleeping pills in the food of Karan. Sushmita became nervous when no quick results were witnessed by the sedatives. She sent Rahul a text message to tell her about what she should do. When asked by Rahul to figure something out, it has been reported that he replied and said, "If you can figure nothing out, then shock him."
Then Rahul instructed Sushmita to tie him up using tape and provide him with all the medicine. "I can't get his mouth open. I can pour water in, but I can't give the medicine. You come here, maybe together we can manage to feed it to him," Sushmita responded, according to NDTV.
Through the chats it was established that Karan wife and brother allegedly had an affair and that is why they had conspired to kill him. The allegedly guilty person was thinking to make him sleep with some sleeping pills and then give him electric shock so that it could be considered as a case of accidentally electrocuting him.
After a murder was committed, it is said that Sushmita left the home and went to the house of her in-laws and told them that Karan got an electric shock. The family panicked and ran to the flat and took him to the hospital where he was declared dead.
The two were arrested after the police got to know about the chats, shared by Kunal, following the receipt of the same.
The wife of the victim has also confessed to the murder of her husband and hatched the plan to kill him together with her brother-in-law. Karan beat and harassed her a day prior to Karwa Chauth and had a tendency of asking her money, she said, which provoked her physical and mental torture.
“Based on the initial investigation, a case has been registered under appropriate sections. The process of arrest is going on. We are also waiting for a detailed post-mortem report," Deputy Commissioner of Police Dwarka Ankit Singh was quoted as saying by NDTV.
