Uttar Pradesh to Become First State Assembly to Use AI-Powered Monitoring System for Legislative Performance
State-of-the-art AI cameras are now going to be set up to monitor the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

The style of working of MLAs will become transparent with the help of AI technology and the most modern camera in the world will be set up in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
The Assembly will now go under surveillance of modern AI cameras. Initially, it will work as a pilot project during the current monsoon session and will be implemented completely during the next winter session. The presence, activities and performance of the MLAs will not only be analysed but also their security through this technology.

The facial recognition technology in these AI-based cameras will be in a position to know the names and faces that are included in the list of MLAs. It will also ensure that individual profile of all MLA is programmed into the system that will contain details like name, party, constituency, gender, date of birth, photo etc.
Based on AI technology, it will be noted which MLA appeared in the assembly, the duration of his stay, on how many subjects he addressed the assembly and in what subjects of the assembly he touched in the speech. Besides this, AI will also perform content analysis by topics.

The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly member, Satish Mahana, has called this whole system as positive initiative. He said, "This is not a step of monitoring, but to increase transparency and accountability. MLAs are anyway under the surveillance of the public, so no one should have any objection."
He added further, "This smart system being implemented in the assembly will have audio-body movement analysis along with recording. So that any kind of unexpected activity can be taken cognisance of immediately."
