What is Bell's Palsy?
Bell's Palsy is a neurological disorder that weakens and paralyzes the facial muscles suddenly. After onset, the severity of symptoms usually worsens during a course of 48 hours.
The Bell's Palsy is treatable and generally temporary; the patients regain facial awareness within two weeks up to six months.
Most often, the patients with Bell's Palsy have trouble controlling the movement on the involved side, which influences movements associated with closing eyes, chewing, blinking, smiling, and other functions.
The disease's cause is unspecified, but it can be associated with other diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and Lyme disease and even with Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), according to John Hopkins Medicine.
