R Madhavan: R Madhavan also known as Maddy is an Indian actor, producer, and director and is especially famous for his Telugu and Hindi films. R. Madhavan's full name is Ranganathan Madhavan, he was born on June 1, 1970, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

He is among those actors who started their carrer late but gained huge reputations and acclaim in a short time in the film industry.

Ranganathan Madhavan was born to Ranganathan and Saroja, an Tamili family on June 1 1970 in Jamshedour.

R Madhavan completed his schooling at D.B.M.S. English School Jamshedpur and he completed his further studies from Kolhapur and graduated with a BSC in electronics.

During his college time, he was among the leading NCC students and also went to England and received training from the British Army, the Air Force, and the Royal Navy but he couldn't join the force.

Then he did his master's degree in public speaking at Kishinchand Chellaram College in Mumbai and won the Indian Championship for Public Speaking which helped him to make his career in the film industry.

His father Ranganathan was an executive at Tata Steel and his mother Saroja was a manager at the Bank of India. He also has a sister named, Devika.

R Madhavan started his career after marriage at the age of 25 year he entered the film industry.

He started his career by doing Television shows and ads, he appeared in the drama series, Yule Love Story and also did a sandalwood talc advertisement.

His first show was Zee TV's Banegi Apni Baat after which he appeared in other shows like Ghar Jamai. In the movies Sea Hawks and Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, the actor played the role of a ship's captain and a prisoner.

He made his film debut in a small role in the movie ‘Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin,’ as a bar singer. He appeared in a supporting role in the movie Inferno, as an Indian officer.

However, he made his film debut in a leading role in the Tamil romantic drama, Alai Payuthey (2000) which got famous and made his first breakthrough.

In 2001, he appeared in many films such as Kannathil Muthamittal in 2003, Priyamaana Thozhi in 2003, Aayutha Ezhuthu in 2007, Ramji Londonwaley in 2008, Rang De Basanti in 2007, Guru in 2007, 3 Idiots in 2009, Teen Patti and Jhoota Hi Sahi in 2011, Tanu Weds Manu in 2011, Jodi Breakers in 2015, and Irudhi Suttru and Saala Khadoos in Hindi.

He also appeared in movies like Chanda Mama Door Ke (2018) and Gramophone (2019), Vikram Vedha, and among his notable works are Maara (2021), Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022), Dhokha Round D Corner (2022), and Amriki Pandit (2023).

He also played roles alongside many famous actors and actresses such as Kangana Ranaut, Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan and many others.
