Lucknow Faces 30% Rain Deficit, Humidity Soars to 93%
The Lucknow deficit to 30 percent even after 18.6 mm on Friday; humidity 93%. The activity of the Monsoon is predicted to be high in the next few days.

Though 18.6 mm precipitation took place in Lucknow on Friday, the shortfall in 2021 stands at 30 percent. There is little rain here thus the level of humidity has risen to point 93%. As of June 1, the state capital recorded a rainfall of 110.2 mm, which is lower than 158.3 mm that is recorded monthly in this season.
At present southwest monsoon is hoarded mostly in the greenery part of South UP and Vindhyachal region, Met officials added. And they hope the activities of rainfall will be enhanced in Lucknow and neighboring regions within a period of a few days.

As per the prediction, the sky will be partly cloudy on Saturday and there are chances of thunder occurring and moderate rain. The high and low temperature will be approximately 36 and 28 degrees Celsius respectively. Speaking of the thunderstorms that are accompanied with lightning, the IMD has issued a warning that it is quite probable that it will occur at isolated pockets.
Monsoon conditions are active in western UP which is making the southern region of the state to receive continuous rain. Its western side of monsoon trough has moved towards the foothills of the Himalayas and the eastern side of monsoon trough has shifted out of its regular position to south and has gone through the routes of Najibabad, Shahjahanpur and Kanpur in the state.
Due to low pressure area centered over West Bengal and the neighbouring region of Jharkhand, which is moving in the w -n -w direction progressively, monsoon activity is expected to persist in the western Uttar Pradesh and southern region of the state in the next 24 hours and only extraordinary rainfall is going to take place at some other places, the weatherman stated.

In general, in Uttar Pradesh, there has been 4 per cent excess rainfall since June 1 this monsoon. The state had been hit by 186.5 mm of rainfall against normal 179.8 mm. IMD data indicate that although East UP incurred rain deficit of 20 percent with a total of 159.6 mm of rains as against the normal of 199.3 mm, West UP had surplus of 48 percent with 225 mm of rains in comparison to the normal rain of 152.4 mm.
Much of the rainfall exceeded normal in District Etah which recorded 283 mm against the normal 102 mm with an excess of 177 percent, Taj city Agra 260.9 mm against normal 112.8 mm, 131% excess, Lalitpur enjoyed 436.8 mm rainfall against normal 123.9 mm, 131% excess.
