Kejriwal Appeals to Delhi HC to Prevent Arrest in Excise Policy Case

Kejriwal Appeals to Delhi HC to Prevent Arrest in Excise Policy Case: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal went to the Delhi High Court on March 23 to fight his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate for allegedly fraud in the Delhi Excise policy.
Reports say that his lawyers are going to ask the High Court to hear the case right away, ideally on March 24.
The trial court sent him back to ED's care until March 28 so that he could be questioned in great detail for a long time.
Mr. Kejriwal's legal case was that his arrest and detention by the ED were illegal, and he should be freed right away.
Kejriwal was taken by the ED a few hours after the High Court said it would not protect him from being forced to do something.
The High Court threw out all the charges against Mr. Kejriwal and threw them out.
The ED has been turned into a tool by the government, says Mr. Kejriwal, a "vocal critic" of the ruling party and a member of the INDIA bloc.
There are claims of wrongdoing and money laundering in the Delhi excise policy for 2021-22, which is being looked into.
There is still a case going on between Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh.
The ED's charge sheets have called out Mr. Kejriwal's name many times.
They are said to have worked with Mr. Kejriwal to make the Excise policy, which gave them unfair advantages and gave money to AAP.
