Kapil Sharma’s Canada Café Attacked Twice in a Month | Film Body Urges Amit Shah’s Intervention
The second assault on Kapil Sharma cafe in Canada had already been condemned by the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) which requested the intervention of the Home Minister Amit Shah.

All Indian Cne Workers Association (AICWA) has vigorously denounced daylight beating on the restaurant of comedian Kapil Sharma, Kap Cafe in Canada. The film body demanded a quick action by Home Minister Amit Shah. The attack is said to be claimed by Goldy Dhillon who is a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He also hit a stern message to the comedian through Facebook.
AICWA wrote a firm note on social media stating that the second attack on Kapil Sharma s Kaps Cafe is a premeditated attack on Indian film industry, its free movement and dignity of it. This was the second incident that the association warned of a dark past that Bollywood experienced during the 1990s, when underworld blackmail and threats were the order of the day. “It is evident that certain criminal elements are attempting to revive the dark era of the 1990s, when the Indian film industry was held hostage by underworld syndicates, extortion rackets, and constant fear. Once again, Bollywood and Indian film personalities are being targeted one after another – a dangerous trend aimed at spreading terror and re-establishing gangster control through violence and intimidation," read a part of the post.

“This is not just about Kapil Sharma or a property — it’s about a dangerous trend," AICWA said, pointing to recent threats and attacks targeting Salman Khan, Baba Siddique, and Saif Ali Khan. “Who’s next? That’s the alarming question echoing throughout the film fraternity." The post further read, “This ongoing pattern of violence clearly indicates a deliberate campaign to terrorize artists, suppress creative freedom, and destabilize India’s cultural backbone – the film industry."
It then urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take immediate cognizance of the issue and embark on elevated level talks with the Canadian Prime Minister, to ensure the safety of Indian nationals in foreign countries and in this case celebrities. It has also called upon central agencies to liaise with Canadian authorities to ensure the culprits are put behind bars and offer good security facilities.
AICWA focused on the fact that the problem is not about personal celebrities, but rather a crisis that affects millions of employees whose employment is based on reliable and fruitful film industry. It cautioned that there are serious loopholes in the enforcement of the international law that is made visible by the increasing role of the gangsters that should be closed immediately.
The note concluded with AICWA’s stand on the matter: “The Indian film industry must never again be forced to kneel before fear or violence. We appeal to the Government of India to ensure strong, visible action so that no artist feels unprotected — at home or abroad."
