Kangana Ranaut asked a TV channel, "Where did Netaji Subash Chandra Bose go after independence?"
"He went to Japan to fight for India's freedom, but wasn't allowed to return. The soldiers of Azad Hind Fauj were tortured," she said, adding that due to his immense contributions, Bose ought to have been India's first prime minister.
After prominent political figures shared the video clip of Kangana's statement, it quickly went viral on social media.
