Amitabh Bachchan as Immortal Ashwatthama in FIRST Teaser: As Nag Ashwin's futuristic film 'Kalki 2898 AD' has been creating a buzz since its announcement, the makers today unveiled a new poster featuring Amitabh Bachchan.
First look at Amitabh Bachchan's character marks a significant milestone towards this year's most anticipated Indian film's release.
Despite the initial announcement in January indicating a May 9, 2024 global release date, the lack of subsequent updates cast doubt on this date. The music score for "Kalki" is orchestrated by Santhosh Narayanan.
As part of the highly anticipated sci-fi movie, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani will also play prominent roles.
On Sunday evening, Star Sports premiered the exclusive first look prior to the IPL 2024 match between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans.
A teaser poster revealing the first look event was also released earlier that day, depicting Big B fully clothed and masked within a temple-like setting.

Bachchan is shown praying to a Shiva linga in a cave, accompanied by soothing music, and a child's voice asking, "Can you not die? Are you divine? Who are you?"?"
Bachchan declares firmly, "I have awaited the arrival of the Avatar since ancient times. I am Guru Drona's son. Ashwatthama," he claims.
In an earlier post on X (formerly Twitter), Bachchan commented, “It’s been an experience for me like no other. The mind to think such a product, the execution, the exposure to modern technology and above all the company of colleagues with stratospheric Super star presence.”
A few months ago, Ashwin revealed captivating details about the grand science-fiction venture, promising audiences an unforgettable visual experience.
Ashwin spoke at the Synapse 2024 event recently in Gurgaon, he said, “I just wish that there was more tech to help us make this film, like three-four years back when we were in preproduction. We are creating this new world like…"
"I am just looking at this picture right now on the screen, and all these different worlds that we are trying to create, we work with so many different concept artists and giving prompts, obviously, again, in a very personal, one-on-one sort of way, and try to give references and build this world.”
