J&K: 2 Soldiers Killed in Suspected IED Blast in Akhnoor – Latest Updates
The official sources said that, while patrolling, the troops were blasted by a very high explosive nearby the forward post view on the Bhattal area at around 3:50 pm.

J&K: According to an Indian Army report, two soldiers died in Laleali, Akhnoor sector, Jammu, after an IED attack on Tuesday.

“Suspected Improvised Explosive Device blast reported in #Laleali in #Akhnoor Sector during a fence patrol resulting in two fatalities. The officials revealed that a great civilian blast occurred near a forward post in the Bhattal area around 3:50 pm when the troops were on patrolling duty.
The injured men were rushed to the hospital, and two, including a captain, were declared dead on arrival. The other injured soldier is stated to be "out of danger".

Mortar shell defused
Earlier in the day, a mortar shell was located and later safely defused by the bomb disposal squad in the Akhnoor sector, police officials told PTI. The mortar shell was noticed by some locals in Partap Canal near Namandar village around 10 am, the officials added.
A police party rushed to the scene upon receiving the information and later summoned a bomb disposal squad which safely defused the explosive substance.
