Jasprit Bumrah’s Magic Ball Dismisses Travis Head: Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar lauded Jasprit Bumrah for his brilliant spell of bowling on Day 4 of the 1st Test between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth on 25 November. Impressed with his effort, Manjrekar went on to call Bumrah's wicket of Travis Head as one among the best deliveries of his career. Bumrah master-classed it, saying the Indians had observed that Head was not very at ease with full balls without width. Round the wicket, Bumrah completely took away the off-side and has not given much room outside off stump.

Head struggled to time his flicks and connect cleanly on some drives. "This was a clever, well-directed short ball taking him back, disturbing his rhythm even more." This was followed by a length ball, slightly wide, which tempted him to attempt a risky backfoot drive. Apparently, Head took the bait, but the ball moved away just enough, with extra bounce, to find the edge. A perfect plan to dismiss a set batter-identify a weakness, execute a strategy, and induce the error.
"It's one of the greatest balls that he's bowled in his career and this is no exaggeration. Travis Head, set batter, the ball was soft plus the pitch looked a lot easier. It's almost like it's become this Indian cricket genie, you have a wish, and he comes and fulfils it. And this was like, almost an unbelievable thing to do on a pitch like that to produce a delivery of this kind where a set batter was out on defence," Manjrekar told Star Sports.

According to Manjrekar, Bumrah was exceptional for taking the wicket of the all-important Travis Head, who managed 89 on the day.
"I mean, that was just outstanding. And what a time Bumrah is having. That was an incredible delivery, and I know, Australia would not have won, but that partnership was really frustrating for India. He got India right back in the game," he added.
India erupted into raucous celebration at the fall of Head's wicket and, as always, Bumrah and Virat Kohli were seen roaring after sending the batter back to the pavilion.
