Jalgaon Train Accident: 11 Passengers Jump Out Fearing Fire, Run Over by Another Train
At least eight passengers died after jumping out of the burning Pushpak Express, which was involved in a collision with the Karnataka Express on the adjacent track.

Jalgaon Train Accident: It is believed that at least eight passengers died after jumping out of the burning Pushpak Express, which was involved in a collision with the Karnataka Express on the adjacent track.
Officials reported the incident took place at around 4 pm near Pardhade railway station in Pachura taluka of Jalgaon district.
“Some passengers deboarded the Pushpak Express train and were run over by Karnataka Express. The Divisional Railway Manager of Bhusawal has left for the accident site. A medical team has also rushed to the spot. State government officials and rescue teams are also reaching the accident spot,” said an official of the Ministry of Railways.
This is the initial report coming from Jalgaon district where about 30 to 35 agitated passengers jumped off the moving train, out of which some are believed to be mowed down.
Terming it unfortunate, he paid a heartfelt tribute to the victims on his X handle, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “My colleague Minister Girish Mahajan and the Superintendent of Police have reached the spot, and the District Collector will reach there shortly. The entire district administration is working in coordination with the railway administration, and immediate arrangements are being made for the treatment of the injured.”
Fadnavis mentioned that eight ambulances were dispatched to the spot, adding that the General Hospital and other private medical facilities were kept ready for the treatment of the injured. “Emergency equipment like glass cutters, floodlights etc. have also been kept ready. We are monitoring the entire situation and all necessary assistance is being provided immediately. I am in touch with the district administration,” the CM said.

”The Pushpak Express, which was heading towards Mumbai, had halted near Pardhade railway station, seemingly because of some ongoing track work. As the train came to a halt all of a sudden, sparks flew and some passengers thought there was a fire. They jumped off the train and were crushed by an incoming Karnataka Express,” said Sandeep Jadhav, a passenger.
Jalgaon District Collector Ayush Prasad said, ”As per preliminary information, five-six passengers were crushed by the incoming train.”
Swapnil Lila, spokesperson, Central Railway, said, ”As per our preliminary information, the Pushpak Express had halted near a railway station in Jalgaon… So far, we don’t have information about casualties. Our first priority is to provide immediate medical assistance to the injured passengers.”
