International Emmy Awards 2024: International Emmy Awards would be celebrating its 52nd edition on November 25 in New York City. Actor-comedian Vir Das will host the event. He will be the first Indian to do so in the prestigious event held every year in the United States. The event is organized every year by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (IATAS) to honor the best television programs produced and aired across the country in 2023 outside the United States.
Thanking the International Emmys, Vir wrote on Instagram, "Thanks to your support, an Indian Emmy Host, I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! Crazy. Thank you for having me. Tremendously honoured and excited! (sic)"

The event will be telecast between 5 pm-11 pm (EST). In India, fans can keep an eye on the event from 3.30 am to 9:30 am (IST) on Tuesday. It will be held in the New York Hilton Midtown, New York City. The awards event will be available on iemmys.tv for streaming globally. The event will feature the participation of over 56 nominees from 21 countries, including India, the UK, Australia, France, Brazil, and Argentina.
The nominations comprise 14 categories like Arts Programming, Best Performance by an Actor, Best Performance by an Actress, Comedy, Documentary, Drama Series, Kids: Animation, Kids: Factual & Entertainment, Kids: Live-Action, Non-Scripted Entertainment, Short-Form Series, Sports Documentary, Telenovela, TV Movie / Mini-Series.
The nominees from the Arts Programming category include Robbie Williams from the UK, Who I Am Life from Japan, Pianoforte from Poland, and Virgilio from Argentina. The nominees for Best Performance by an Actor include Timothy Spall (The Sixth Commandment) from the UK, Haluk Bilginer (Sahsiyet - Season 2) from Turkey, Julio Andrade (Betinho: No Fio da Navalha) from Brazil, and Laurent Lafitte (Tapie) from France.
Comedy - further entries are Daily Dose of Sunshine (South Korea), División Palermo (Argentina), Deadloch (Australia), and HPI - Season 3 (France). L'affaire Bettencourt (France); The Exiles from Singapore; Transo (Brazil); and Otto Baxter: Not a F**ing Horror Story from the UK are all nominees for Documentary.
Nominations in the Drama Series category include Les Gouttes de Dieu (France), The Newsreader - Season 2 (Australia), The Night Manager (India), and Iosi, El Espia Arrepentido - Season 2 (Argentina). Other categories are Short-Form Series, Sports Documentary, Telenovela, Non-Scripted Entertainment, Kids' Programming and TV Movie/Mini-Series.
