India and Pakistan Agree to Immediate Ceasefire; Trump Claims U.S. Mediation
Mr. Donald Trump announced that after a "long night of talks" facilitated by the United States, India and Pakistan agreed to implement a "full and immediate" ceasefire.

India and Pakistan Agree to Immediate Ceasefire: From the days of airstrikes and shelling, the situation suddenly took a turn by 180 degrees on Saturday evening.
It all started at 5:25pm; Mr. Donald Trump announced that after a "long night of talks" facilitated by the United States, India and Pakistan agreed to implement a "full and immediate" ceasefire.

Minutes later, and almost simultaneously, the ceasefire was confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs in India and the foreign ministry in Pakistan.
A ceasefire on land, sea, and air was decided by India after the Director General of Military Operations of Pakistan had called at 3.30pxm on Saturday afternoon, and whose implementation started at 5 pm.
Setting The Ball Rolling
Mr. Trump took a social media platform, Truth Social, at 8 am Washington DC time, Donald Trump tweeted, "After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
On X, soon after, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio - having earlier that day spoken with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar as well as Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir - corroborated the claims of Mr. Trump regarding the agreement for an immediate ceasefire.
Mr. Rubio said the two countries have also agreed to begin the talks on a "broad set of issues" at a neutral venue.
