IMD Warns of More Rains Next Week in Flood-Ravaged Gujarat
The Indian Metrological Department has once more predicted that there will be more rainfall in Gujarat especially in Vadodara between 2nd nd 4th.

IMD Warns of More Rains Next Week: The Indian Metrological Department has once more predicted that there will be more rainfall in Gujarat especially in Vadodara between 2nd nd 4th. During the night of August 23, after the heavy downpour, water was let into Vishwamitri river from the Ajwa dam resulting into water rise up to six to eight feet in many areas in the city.
The IMD has kept Vadodara on a yellow warning for September 2 and the adjoining areas of Bharuch and Narmada districts are on an orange warning. It has also said that four districts in Saurashtra including Ahmedabad, which are in proximity to South and Central Gujarat, are under a yellow alert.

For September 4, orange alert is issued for South Gujarat and Central Gujarat whereas Anand and Bharuch district is falling under orange alert. It was noted that Met department has predicted heavy rainfall throughout September as was the case in August.
In the last few days, Gujarat flooded with rain and state has already received 105 percent of its average annual rains. According to IMD, the above mentioned 12 districts is likely to receive the extremely heavy rainfall.
A crocodile was seen lying on a roof of a house in Gujarat’s Vadodara as the state suffers from flooding due to heavy rains. The recording of the event is in circulation on the social platform.

28 people being killed while thousands of people have been affected by the floods. In view of the recent spell of heavy rains and severe floods in Gujarat, the state government has initiated the relief and cleaning operations in different regions of the state.
In Narmada district, the necessary repairs are now being carried out on affected road that have been affected by the rains. These repairs are being undertaken by the Narmada district road and building department according to the Narmada district collector’s survey.
In one of the statements the authority stated that the water levels has gone down in the district. However after a brief shower break, the executive engineering team from the Narmada department is on the road work to make necessary repair and help the residents to travel easily.
