Rhea Chakraborty Opens Up About Jail Experience Post Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death: Facing Depression and Darkness

Rhea Chakraborty Opens Up About Jail Experience: Bollywood actor-model-Rhea Chakraborty who was arrested by the NCB in a drug-related case has described her time in jail. To begin with, Rhea spoke about how each day in jail was like a year for her in a conversation with Karishma Mehta’s podcast.

She also declared that it was a very hard time for her and she used to ‘have a deep depression and darkness.’

Rhea said, "Jail is actually a very different world because there's no society in jail. There is a weird sense of equality. Everyone is a number, the are not a person. You are a UT number when you are in under trial prison...It's a strange world, it's a very evolved crowd.”

“Because it's just human emotion at its basic rawest. It's survival. You have to survive each day, and each day feels like a year. It takes a long time for a day to finish because you're literally doing nothing. There it is paused."

"My time in there was actually really difficult in the first two weeks to kind of adjust to this situation because no one ever believes that they are going to jail. Once you are in there, it takes a long time to understand that this has happened.”

“There is a deep depression and darkness that I obviously experienced...You are really thinking negative thoughts now. I've always been a very bubbly, positive person, like delusionally optimistic," she added.

This was memorable for her and she said she saw light while others were in total darkness She mentioned that the women she was with inside jail had lost the hope in their lives and had hopeless life hence she thought of giving them “a bit of me” to find hope in lives hence she taught the women Yoga, did dance for them and taught poems for the children in the jail.

It was worth remembering that Sushant Singh Rajput’s family had accused Rhea of having been abusive to the young actor, of using him for his money and of having been complicit in his death.

Rhea was the girlfriend of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput who was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14, 2020. Rhea was charged for abetting to suicide by Sushant’s parents. She too was arrested by NCB in September 2020 in relation to a drug angle that came to light during the investigation into Sushant’s death.
