Red Alert Kerala: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning about widespread thunderstorms and gusty winds expected across various parts of northwest India over the next four to five days, as the annual southwest monsoon makes its way over much of the country.
This weather pattern is attributed to an upper air cyclonic circulation currently situated over west Rajasthan, along with another one over the northern regions of central Uttar Pradesh.
The IMD also forecasts heavy rainfall is likely to hit isolated areas in Kerala in the coming three to four days. The Met Centre has put out a red alert for rainfall affecting eight districts in Kerala.
