As many as 119 human lives have been lost in Himachal Pradesh between June 20 and July 19, with 34 persons still missing.

Of the total casualties till Saturday, 78 were directly due to monsoon disasters - 14 in cloudbursts, 8 in flash floods, 12 in drowning and others in lightning, landslides and electrocution.
The worst hit districts - Mandi, Kullu, Kangra and Lahaul-Spiti - have seen roads washed out and water supplies disrupted.
Homes and crops have been damaged and it’s not over yet.

More rain is expected and authorities are warning everyone to be alert for further flash floods and landslides.
49 persons died in road accidents during this period in the state.
Mandi district saw the maximum 14 deaths due to cloudbursts; 7 in Kangra district due to flash floods and 1 in Kullu district. The state saw 34 flash floods, 22 cloudbursts and 21 major landslides in less than a month.
Mandi district saw the maximum 15 cloudbursts, while 13 flash flood incidents were reported in Lahaul and Spiti district and 10 in Mandi district.
As many as 146 roads, including 94 in Mandi district, were blocked across the state till Saturday evening and 58 water supply schemes are still disrupted.
Water level in all the dams in HP was within the permissible operational limits on Saturday evening. There are 25 dams in the state - 10 in Beas basin, 6 in Satluj basin, 7 in Ravi basin and 2 in Yamuna basin.
Two hydel power projects on the dams in Beas basin - Sain Barrage and Parbati-II - were shut as a precautionary measure due to high silt levels. Meanwhile, one hydel power project in Beas basin - Malana-II - was shut down since August 1, 2024 and the dam gates are open.
Rescue teams are working round the clock to help the affected.
