Heavy Rain Hits Mumbai: Rail & Metro Disrupted, Roads Waterlogged Under Orange Alert
On Monday, the IMD forecast issued a cloudy sky with the chance of heavy rains at isolated places in the city and suburbs in the next 24 hours.

Heavy Rain Hits Mumbai: It has been pouring heavily across Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai and neighbouring cities. Waterlogging in very low-lying areas has been causing traffic jams, and disrupting the flow of suburban trains and metro rail services.
Mumbai has received an average rainfall of 95 mm in 24 hours ending at 8 am, PTI news agency reported gave reported data from civic officials.
Heavy rains have killed 18 people and injured 65 as of June 1, officials said.

Rainfall in 24 hours: As noted above, Mumbai had an average rainfall of 95 mm in 24 hours ending at 8 Am Monday. The total rainfall in the eastern suburbs and western suburbs were 58 mm and 75 mm, respectively.
Mumbai Weather Forecast: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted cloudy skies and that heavy rain is likely at few places in the city and suburbs for the next 24 hours. IMD came under fire from Union Minister Raosaheb Dadarao Danve after the IMD issued a an 'Orange' alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai, Thane and Palghar and a 'Red' alert for Raigad on Monday.
A high tide of 4.21 metres is expected at 3;31tthe first high tide will occur tomorrow at same time, size of 3.44 (approx 3 times lower than the first). Also we have a low tide coming in around (9:41pm) 1.86m and another low tide tomorrow around 9:10 am approximately the correct height will be 1.33m.
Train service disrupted: Suburban train services on Central and Western railways were reportedly delayed on Monday - many commuters said they noted delays varying from 20 to 30 minutes during the peak morning rush hour.
Metro service disrupted: Mumbai metro service on the Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova line was disrupted temporarily on Monday afternoon, when a plastic sheet fell on overhead wires at Azad Nagar station.
"The services are running normally now. Due to heavy winds, a plastic sheet from a nearby construction site flew onto the overhead electrical line near the Azad Nagar Metro station, disrupting train services," Mumbai Metro One informed on X.

Flights on hold: IndiGo Airlines issued a travel advisory because of the weather current in Mumbai on Monday. In a post on X, IndiGo said, “Heavy rainfall continues across Mumbai, and road conditions remain slow in several parts of the city. Waterlogging and low visibility are being reported on some routes to the airport".
IndiGo instructed passengers to allow more time for travel and to check flight status using the application or website before proceeding to the airport. SpiceJet also issued a similar travel advisory.
Red alert in Raigad: The Met Department issued a red alert for extremely heavy rains during isolated places in Raigad and ghat area of Pune and Satara districts in the next 16 hours and an orange alert for Mumbai on Monday afternoon.
