Heat Wave Crisis: Uttar Pradesh Records 35 Deaths, Delhi 21 Fatalities
Among these deaths number, Uttar Pradesh has reported 35 deaths till now which is the highest number of deaths compared to other states, Delhi has recorded 21 deaths followed by 17 deaths in Rajasthan and Bihar respectively.

Heat Wave Crisis: As India experiences a continuous severe temperature condition this year, the number of deaths due to heat-related disease has seen a rapid rise in number.
As per the reports from the health minister, from March to June 20 India has recorded deaths of 143 people, and more than 40,000 people are still admitted to the hospital due to heatstroke all over India.
However, the actual number might be more as most of these cases are from rural areas, some of which are not recorded.
Among these deaths number, Uttar Pradesh has reported 35 deaths till now which is the highest number of deaths compared to other states, Delhi has recorded 21 deaths followed by 17 deaths in Rajasthan and Bihar respectively.
The reports from the official said that only on June 20 alone, India recorded 14 deaths due to heatstroke, it has broken all the previous heatwave records.

Earlier, on Tuesday in a statement, Health Minister JP Nadda all his staff to ensure that all the central hospitals especially in the northern and eastern parts which are mostly affected by the heatwave should have a special unit for heatwave patients so that they can get immediate treatment.
An advisory was issued for state health offices by the heath ministry that a report should be submitted daily by NPCCHH officers on the number of cases and deaths by heatstroke across the country.
In a statement, JP Nadda said, “The country may see above-average seasonal high temperatures, which is in line with the observed trend of summertime temperatures. To minimize the effects of extreme heat on health, health departments must be ready and respond timely.”
The 'Heat Wave Season 2024’ advisory emphasizes how much IMD early heat wave alerts are so that people can take measures beforehand to present heatwave-related diseases.
It also suggests that all hospitals should have enough drinking facilities, cooling devices in waiting areas, and patient treatment areas. Patients affected by heatstroke should immediately be taken care of and should get proper treatment.
