Hardik Pandya Left Stunned by Drop-Catch vs RR, MI Dugout in Disbelief: Wankhede Spectators Dissatisfied, Shouts 'Boos'

Hardik Pandya Left Stunned by Drop-Catch Error vs RR: Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya was booed louder on social media by spectators than he did in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, according to claims made by spectators themselves. As a result, he was probably the harshest or most brutal when he dropped Jos Buttler during Rajasthan Royals' successful chase for 126 runs.

During the fourth over of Rajasthan's batting, as Jasprit Bumrah was in his second over, Buttler struck a drive to the left of mid-off with a fuller ball outside off. Hardik, stationed there, dived to his left and got both hands on the ball, but he was never in control as it popped out.

When Hardik collected the ball, he had his hand over his head in disbelief.

In the over after the powerplay, Buttler, batting on 10, failed to make any difference after being out by Akash Madhwal.

Riyan Parag's valiant half-century knock, en route to an unbeaten 54 off 39, led Mumbai to a six-wicket win in Wankhede despite Mumbai's regular strikes in defending their paltry total.

Rajasthan went to the top of the points table after their third consecutive win in IPL 2024, while Mumbai dropped to the bottom after their third straight loss.

A third successive loss in the ongoing tournament has prompted MI skipper Pandya to urge his team to show some more 'discipline' and 'courage'.

Hardik said to the broadcasters, "We didn't start the way we wanted to, tough night tonight."

“Results, sometimes it happens it doesn’t. I don’t think much surprises me anymore. But as a group we believe we can pull off a lot of better things going forward and we just need to be more disciplined and show more courage,” he added.
