Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the celebrated Hindu festivals which celebrate the birth of Lord Ganesha and is celebrated in different parts of India at a large scale. It is a ten day long celebration and the Hindus celebrate this festival with lot of piousness and devotion.
It is the festival most especially loved by the people of India’s western regional states; Maharashtra and Gujarat. The festival has great relevance in Hindu calendar.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Dates and Shubh Muhurat
The festival of Ganesh utsav shall be conducted from September 6 to September” 17 this year.
According to the Drik Panchang calendar the good time for Ganapathi to come home this year has been fixed from 3:01 PM on 6th September to 5:37 PM on 7th September.
Ganeshotsav puja’s Shubh Muhurat on Ganesh Chaturthi will be between 11:03 AM – 1:34 PM on September 7.
Ganesh Visarjan 2024, will be observed on Tuesday, 17. September.

Lord Ganesha is one of the favorite deities of Hindu pantheon, who is worshipped before starting any function or task as he is considered as the deity who eliminates all the obstacles and known as the god of wisdom and prosperity.
Festivals like the Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated majorly in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
The first initiation of the festival is called the Pranapratishtha in which a priest recites mantras to bring life to the idol of Lord Ganesha. Next is the Shodashopachara which is sixteen actions and it includes offering prayers, sweets and fruits at the idol of the deity.
Modak, a sweet rice dumpling, is an offering worshiped by people as well as dedicated to Lord Ganesha as he supposdely likes it most.
The feelings during the Ganesh Chaturthi procession are joyful and colorful which is evident from the well decorated statues of Lord Ganesha in homes, offices and even those rented for public like pandals.

They also trust and believed on the religious chants, the traditional drum with unique cadence, special occasion meal preparations. The last two hours of the festival are called Uttarpuja, where the audiences say goodbye to Lord Ganesha.
Finally on the tenth day, the idol is taken to a water body for immersions during the Visarjan ceremony where one recites – Ganapati Bappa Morya, Purchya Varshi Laukariya which means – Bye, Lord Ganesha, come back next year.
And even today Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most popular cultural and religious festivals, which unites millions of people in prayer and joy in India.
