Flash Flood in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu: According to officials, on Tuesday a flash flood caused by a cloudburst washed away a footbridge and three temporary shops, including a liquor shop, in Tosh Nallah in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning, in the Tosh area of Manikaran and Deputy Commissioner, Kullu, Torul S. Raveesh, said, a loss of life was reported, and also added that to handle the situation a team had already been sent.
While speaking to ANI on Tuesday "In the early morning hours, there was a cloudburst in Tosh village. The footbridge and 2-3 temporary shops, including a wine shop, have been washed away. No loss of life has been reported. Teams have reached the spot for restoration," said, Kullu DC Torul S Raveesh.

"Our appeal to the people is to stay away from rivers and rivulets and do not make temporary structures near nallahs," she said.
Construction activity is not permitted in the time of monsoon and strict action will be against anyone who ignores the rules, said the deputy commissioner.

An ‘orange’ alert for very heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday has been issued by the metrological office, which occurs with thunderstorms and lightning travels in seven districts of the state.
"Monsoon activity is likely to increase in intensity and distribution over the next 4-5 days, with widespread moderate precipitation, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms or lightning. Peak intensity is expected on July 31 and August 1," the IMD said in a press release.

As per the IMD, the districts of Chamba, Kangra, Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kullu, Solan, Shimla, and Sirmaur from July 29 to August 3 will likely experience heavy rainfall.
At one or two places the districts of Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, and Sirmaur on July 31 and August 1 will experience very heavy rainfall, the weather office said.
According to the IMD, during this period, temperatures are expected to be between an average minimum and maximum.
In the past month, incidents have claimed 62 lives, according to the data recorded as of Monday evening. The state has suffered a loss of Rs 425 crore, according to the state emergency operation centre.
