During nine deliveries, Dhoni smashed three fours and two sixes to remain unbeaten on 28 and propel his team to 176/6.

Yash Thakur bowled the 20th over, in which 16 of those 28 runs were scored.

In his IPL career, the former captain of CSK has scored 772 runs when batting in the 20th over. He has hit 53 fours and 65 sixes while scoring at a whopping strike rate of 246.64. In just 16 deliveries in the 20th over of an innings, Dhoni has scored 57 runs.

Since MS Dhoni retired in 2020, India hasn't been able to find a regular wicketkeeper.

As a result of Dhoni's exploits, social media was abuzz, with many urging his inclusion into the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. Having scored 20 off just four deliveries against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium last Sunday, the 42-year-old has led the late flourish for CSK for the second match in a row.

After CSK won the title, Thala confirmed that Dhoni would be returning for another season. During his innings against LSG on Friday, Dhoni also reached 5,000 runs in IPL as a wicketkeeper.
