False Class 12 Medical Verifications Exposed: The Phase-8 police have booked four people, including an employee of the Punjab State Education Board (PSEB), for issuing fake Class 12 medical verification certificates to two individuals.
This allowed the duo to obtain D-Pharmacy licences (required to run a chemist shop) through the Punjab Pharmacy Council.
Avninderpal Singh, a senior assistant at PSEB's single window in Mohali, Kuldeep Singh and Kishan Singh of Ferozepur, and Ajay Kumar Sharma of Mansa have been named as the suspects.
The PSEB assistant secretary, Harpreet Singh, filed a complaint, which prompted the action.
The potential involvement of additional PSEB personnel is also being looked into by police. The lawsuit claims that on April 4, 2024, the Punjab Pharmacy Council informed PSEB that the board had provided contradictory verification findings for two candidates, Ajay Kumar and Kuldeep Singh, regarding their Class 12 medical certificates.
On July 13, 2023, PSEB first verified that the certificates were authentic. On August 4, 2023, however, the pharmacy council became suspicious and asked for a second verification, which showed that the certificates were really fake.
Under the direction of the PSEB joint secretary, the investigation revealed that pages from the verification branch register were missing and that case-related documents had been altered. It was claimed that Kishan Singh, who assisted in creating a phoney verification report, provided both candidates with phoney certificates. According to reports, Ajay gave Kishan ₹65,000.
According to additional investigation,Avninderpal got 34 verification cases on August 9, 2023, but only entered nine of them that day.
At the Phase-8 police station, the four defendants have been charged with criminal conspiracy, forgery, and cheating. Investigations are still under progress.
