Fadnavis Hints National Role for Bhujbal: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has hinted at plans to send senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal to the ‘national stage’ since party chief and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar wanted NCP to become a 'national' party. Bhujbal, the former minister, has been unhappy over not being included in the new Mahayuti government.
Accompanied by his nephew Sameer, Bhujbal had a long meeting with Fadnavis to explain what he termed as the resentment in the entire OBC community over his exclusion during the cabinet expansion that took place in Nagpur on Dec 15.
The CM assured Bhujbal that he would address his dissatisfaction within 8 to 10 days, sources said. Bhujbal is now likely to meet the chief minister once again on Jan 3.
“Some (read Bhujbal) are angry at not being given a berth in the state cabinet, but sometimes new people need to be given a chance. It is not right to create needless misunderstandings. We have thought about giving senior people a chance at the Centre instead of giving them another chance in the state government. Ajit Pawar will never disrespect others,” Fadnavis said.
