Eid-ul-Azha Celebrated Peacefully in Uttar Pradesh Amid Tight Security Arrangements

Across Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital Lucknow, Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) passed off peacefully with all its enthusiastic prospects.

Within tight security parameters, the Muslim community gathered at mosques and Eidgahs from early morning hours to perform Namaz, pray for the country's peace and prosperity, and embrace each other with greetings.

In Ghaziabad, a symbolic sacrifice was carried out wherein a cake was cut, the cake being decorated with the image of a goat. Locals said that this was in answer to a call given by BJP MLA Nandkishore Gurjar.

In Chandauli, angry resentment cropped up for a brief period as miscreants damaged a windscreen of a Namazi's car, with residents blocking the road. However, the police entered the fray in time and nipped it in the bud.

In Sambhal, the whole area outside MP Zia-ur-Rahman Barq's residence was found stained with blood, causing protests from locals. Heavy police deployment was ensured at Idgah and Jama Masjid during Namaz to maintain law and order.

Prayers were likewise held in huge congregations at the iconic Taj Mahal. Political leaders including CM Yogi Adityanath, SP President Akhilesh Yadav, and BSP Chief Mayawati greeted the people on the occasion of Bakrid.

Prior to the festival, on Monday evening, CM Yogi Adityanath held a review meeting on law and order, emphasizing that no sacrifice of banned animals such as cows, nilgais, or camels would be allowed.

The oldest mosques and main Eidgah were used for Namaz in Lucknow, for example, Aishbagh Eidgah, Tile Wali Masjid, and the Shia Asifi Mosque. There were tight security systems all around the city and other districts.

A chief scholar, Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, delivered the prayers at Aishbagh Eidgah, "Today, Eid-ul-Azha is being celebrated across the country in a very positive atmosphere. In cities like Lucknow and Agra, special prayers were held with large participation. People prayed for the nation’s progress, prosperity, and protection.”
