In a break from tradition that has usually been strictly a domestic affair, Donald Trump has invited several world leaders for his inauguration. The ceremony, indoors at Washington D.C., will also attract top business honchos and tech leaders, among others.

Several Indian and Indian-origin leaders have also been invited. They include:
S Jaishankar: External affairs minister S Jaishankar is the Indian government's official representative at the function that will see JD Vance, whose wife Usha is of Indian origin, sworn in as Vice President.
Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani: Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, one of the richest men in the world, and his wife Nita will also be present.
Kalpesh Mehta: Kalpesh Mehta, founder of Tribeca Developers, registered partner for the Trump Organisation in India, and currently in the USA to attend the inauguration.

Pankaj Bansal: Pankaj Bansal, of M3M Developers, the real estate company executing the Trump Towers project in Gurugram, is also in the USA for the event.
Ashish Jain: Ashish Jain, MD of Pune-based real estate firm Kundan Spaces, will be at the function.
Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, who is of Indian origin, would be joining the likes of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos at the inauguration while no confirmation can be procured regarding the status of his Microsoft counterpart Satya Nadella, also an Indian-origin.
Amit Bhattacharya, a famous Sarod player from Varanasi, the only Indian artist invited for the inauguration according to the reports, has refused the invitation because, unfortunately, prime minister Modi would not attend.
