DMRC Revises Delhi Metro Timings for Diwali 2024
DMRC Revises Delhi Metro Timings for Diwali 2024: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) changed the times of its services on October 31 because of Diwali. The news came out on Wednesday.
DMRC says that the last Delhi Metro train service on October 31 will leave from all line terminal stops at 10:00 pm. This includes the Airport Express line. On normal days, the services are generally open until 11 p.m.
The DMRC wrote on X that the last Metro train service will begin at 10:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2024, because of the Diwali holiday. This applies to all lines, including the Airport Express Line.
"Metro train services will run normally for the rest of the day on Diwali following the normal start times on all lines," it said.

The DMRC announced earlier this week that the Delhi Metro will add an extra 60 trips on Tuesday and Wednesday to make it easier for people to get to work and to reduce traffic during the holiday season.
The DMRC has also told people to use public transportation to get to work to cut down on smog and traffic.
"Delhi Metro is adding 60 extra trips on Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure smoother and more convenient travel for all commuters," the DMRC wrote on X.

"Take the metro instead of driving if you want to avoid traffic and pollution on your way to holiday markets, see family and friends, or just look around the city." "Let's make this holiday season easy and eco-friendly for everyone," it said.
On Tuesday night, traffic jams were recorded all over Delhi because so many people went to the markets to celebrate Dhanteras.
Many places had a lot of traffic, like the Badarpur bridge, CV Raman Marg, Punjabi Bagh, Badarpur Mehrauli Road, Taimur Nagar-Maharani Bagh Road, Ashram, and Yamuna Vihar.

But the Delhi Police said they had made a lot of plans to make sure traffic went smoothly.
"We sent people out on bikes to check the encroachment on busy roads that could cause traffic jams in the area." One cop told the news agency, "People who are going to the markets have also been told to park their cars in a certain spot."
People who work there have loud speakers on their bikes to help traffic move. Vehicles that aren't going anywhere aren't allowed to enter the national capital. There has also been a constant effort to stop people from encroaching in crowded areas, the cop said.
