Did Elon Musk Change His Phone Number After Fallout with Donald Trump?

According to House Speaker Mike Johnson, the CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, changed his phone number after a petty fight with President Donald Trump.

Talking to The New York Post following the proceedings of the Trump and his so called First Buddy boot plan, Jonson said that he heard about the change after he attempted to contact the billionaire. “I sent him a long text message, and then his phone number changed...after the blow-up,” he explained. “(Later I) realized I was sending it out into the ether somewhere and he never read it, so I look forward to meeting with him in person. We got to make that right,” he added.

In the discussion with the POST, Johnson said that he and other government authorities could contact Musk using a third party in case of necessity. He hoped that the X owner and the President could make up even though they were still in disagreement. He further highlighted “multitude of factors” that led to the rivalry between the duo, saying, “Frankly, I think the president was of that mind as well, but there's some tension there.”

The growing battle between Musk and Trump

Musk and the US President Trump, who once used to be close friends, engaged in a public dispute over the so called Big Beautiful Bill, which was signed by Trump at the beginning of the present month. The policy limits the access of food aid and medical services programs to millions and reduces the tax on the wealthy Americans. Trump and Musk have exchanged offending posts against each other on accounts and since then Johnson has stated that he intends to play the role of a peacemaker in all of that. He said: “I have great respect for what he's (Musk) done, and I just want him to fully understand what we're doing and remind him of the strategy. This is a long-term play.”

It is Musk, a tech entrepreneur who stepped down as director of the Department of Government Efficiency and entered into an online battle with Trump earlier this month, who is filling his social media feed with criticisms of Trump and how his government handled the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Musk takes swipe at Trump over Epstein list

Earlier, Musk criticized the activities of Trump administration due to the continued upheaval over Epstein list in one of his posts. He called it "a cover up (obviously)", stressing that “so many powerful people want that list suppressed.”

When Trump described the case as the “Epstein Hoax,” Musk joked, “Wow, amazing that Epstein killed himself and Ghislaine is in federal prison on a hoax,” which inferred former Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently in federal prison on a 20-year prison sentence on assisting Epstein in the sexual abuse of minor girls.
