“The said aircraft, after maintenance with an overhauled engine, was on its first flight. The engine was overhauled at the DGCA-approved facility of M/s International Aircraft Sales Pvt. Ltd., Bhopal,” the aviation regulatory body said in a statement.
“In view of the significant safety concerns, the maintenance organization approved of M/s International Aircraft Sales Pvt. Ltd. has been suspended with immediate effect,” it added.
The DGCA made a special audit of M/s International Aircraft Sales Pvt. Ltd. right after the occurrence of the accident. “The findings of the audit raised serious concerns on the maintenance standards being followed by the organisation,” DGCA stated.
Earlier last year, the DGCA had put a halt on the flying activities of Red Bird Flight Training Academy Pvt. Ltd by closing all its bases due to many Accidents/Incidents that involved their aircraft.
They were resumed only if recertification of their maintenance facilities has been conducted in full.
On August 20, another Cessna 152 trainer aircraft disappeared after it took off from the Sonari aerodrome in Jamshedpur and triggered mass search operation involving police and other security forces in the nearby areas including the dam reservoir to trace the missing instructor and the trainee pilot.
In the Alchemist Aviation Pvt Ltd, the aircraft crashed into the dam within 15-20 minutes after takeoff from Sonari airport and it did not report with the Jamshedpur Air Traffic Control unit.
According to the reports, on Thursday, a team of navy personnel and the National Disaster Response Force have reportedly retrieved the body of the trainee pilot from Jharkhand’s Chandil Dam.
