Deva Box Office Collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor, Pooja Hegde Film Opens at ₹10 Crore Worldwide

Deva Box Office Collection Day 1: Trailing behind series of last-minute delays, Rosshan Andrrews' very first Bollywood feature, Deva, was put out in theaters on the 31st of January. Lead roles were taken on by Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde with ₹10.31 crore gross collected in its opening day, says its production house Zee Studios.

Deva worldwide box office collection

Zee Studios released a new poster of Deva on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, announcing the film's opening numbers. They wrote, "Gearing up to be a global sensation, and this is just Day 1," narrating ₹6.82 crore gross from India and ₹10.31 crore gross worldwide on its first Friday.

According to Sacnilk, Deva managed to take in ₹5.5 crore net and ₹6.60 crore gross in India while fetching ₹7.50 crore from the global market, including ₹0.90 crore from overseas gross. The website continues that his last film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, had an opening day worldwide collection of ₹13.50 crore; his highest opening being Kabir Singh with ₹26.50 crore on day one.

Deva is about a womaniser-hot-headed cop, ACP Dev Ambre, played by Shahid, who loses memory while solving the mystery surrounding his friend's murder. Although the film is a remake of Rosshan's 2013 film Mumbai Police, significant alterations to script were brought in to change the story, especially with respect to the climax. Pooja stars as a journalist, Diya Sathaye, and love interest to Dev.

Mixed reviews came in from critics and audiences with praises going to Shahid's performance. Hindustan Times’ review of the film reads, “Deva had so much potential to give us a massy character, who is always on the edge, truly unpredictable. What we get is a predictable story with an in-form Shahid.”
