Delhi Wedding Called Off Over Groom’s ‘Choli Ke Peeche’ Dance? Social Media Reacts
Heavily hashtagged memes are flooding social media for a viral news clipping that claims a groom's wedding was cancelled after he offended the father of his bride.

The wedding of a Delhi lad was disrupted when his able future father-in-law became offended at the young man's ‘shameless’ jig to the classic song of Madhuri Dixit. This supposedly genuine newspaper clip prompted a viral meme fest on social media.
While HT.com couldn't authenticate it, the clip mentions that the planned day for the wedding was January 18.

Friends of the groom told him to show some dance moves as the wedding procession entered the venue. The famous 'Choli Ke Peechay' track from the 1993 Bollywood movie 'Khalnayak' was played, and succumbing to temptation, the groom danced."The father of the bride did not like that," that report continued, "and, in great rage, he brought the ceremony to a stop and called off the wedding."

The bride's father further said that the groom's antics insulted his family's values.
The bride was crying, and the groom was still trying to convince her gradually fuming father that it was all done in ‘good fun.’
Insiders from the bride's family reveal that the father remained angry for a long time even after canceling the marriage, forbidding any further contact between his daughter and the groom's family.

Social media buzz
Once the alleged incident went viral on social media platform X, a user remarked such was the justification of the bride's father"-otherwise he would be forced to look at his son-in-law dancing every day!
“If you play 'Choli Ke Peeche', I'll also dance at my own wedding,” a second user commented.
“Arranged marriages are like surprise exams, you never know what you're going to get," a third commentator posted, while another user said, “It wasn't an arranged marriage, it was an elimination round.”
