Abhishek Sharma Smashes India’s Second-Fastest T20I Century, Stuns England at Wankhede
A remarkable performance by Abhishek Sharma led to his scoring a T20I second-fastest century for India in the fifth and final match against England.

Abhishek Sharma Smashes India’s Second-Fastest T20I Century: Brute power was displayed by Abhishek Sharma as he smashed the England bowlers all over the ground in the fifth and final T20I at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The left-handed batter capitalized on the powerplay overs to give India a solid start after being asked to bat by England captain Jos Buttler. Abhishek Sharma completed his century in just 37 balls, leaving the visitors flabbergasted.
With this knock, Abhishek Sharma became the second-fastest T20I centurion for India. Fastest century is held by Rohit Sharma, who scored a hundred off 35 balls against Sri Lanka at Indore in 2017.
Earlier, Abhishek Sharma had already struck the second fastest fifty by an Indian in T20Is. He went past K. L. Rahul, who hit 50 off 18 balls against Scotland, in Dubai.
Fastest T20I fifty by an Indian belongs to none other than Yuvraj Singh, who scored 50 in just 12 deliveries in T20 World Cup 2007 against England. The record belongs to Dipendra Singh Airee of Nepal, who scored a fifty in 9 balls.
Brought downhill to 16 runs in the second over of the chase, Abhishek Sharma never really cared after that, feasting on the pace charges offered by Jofra Archer and Jamie Overton.
Jofra Archer was treated with the utmost contempt by Abhishek Sharma during the series, where he faced 32 balls, scoring an astonishing 60 runs at a strike rate of 187.40.
Charging down the wicket against the extreme speeds of Archer and Mark Wood was possibly the most notable feature of the innings.

Sanju Samson falls cheaply
From the very first ball of the match, a Jofra Archer bouncer was pulled for six by Sanju Samson. But his innings ended in a patter way just like in the previous games. He was caught on the boundary while trying to hit Mark Wood.
He made his way toward the hut after scoring 16 runs; Sanju Samson made only 35 runs off 29 short balls bowled to him for the entire series. All five of his dismissals in the series were in the same fashion.
Earlier, England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to bowl first. England made one change, replacing Saqib Mahood with Mark Wood.
On the other hand, India replaced Arshdeep Singh with Mohammed Shami.
India has already won the series, so the fifth T20I in Mumbai is merely a dead rubber.
