Delhi to Meerut in Under 40 Minutes for Just ₹150: RRTS Service Starts Tomorrow

The minimum fare in standard coach starts from Rs 20 and goes up to Rs 150 for a single trip while in the premium coach, it ranges between Rs 30 and Rs 225 Namo Bharat trains will be available to the public at a frequency of 15 minutes.
Namo Bharat train on the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS). A critical 13-km stretch of the RRTS, connecting New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh, is now ready and set to open soon, as confirmed by officials.

Travel time between Delhi and Meerut in Uttar Pradesh will soon be reduced to under an hour.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Delhi section of the rapid rail on Sunday, January 5th. The inauguration, previously scheduled for December 29th, was postponed due to national mourning.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the train from Sahibabad station in Ghaziabad to New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, marking a significant milestone in India’s first semi-high-speed urban transit project.
With this, the Namo Bharat train will connect Delhi's New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerur Regional Rapid Transit System corridor is the Narendra Modi government's ambitious plan to decongest Delhi, reduce carbon footprint and increase connectivity within NCR.
The Rs 30,000 crore Delhi-Meerut RRTS project includes the following operational stations: Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai (EPE), Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South. The corridor allows passengers to cover a distance of 42 km in just 30 minutes, compared to an hour by road.
“For the convenience of commuters, Anand Vihar station has been built at a depth of just eight meters below ground level. To make the corridor possible at such a depth, it has been constructed beneath the basement of the metro lines passing through Anand Vihar. This is a complex task from the perspective of construction and civil engineering, but NCRTC, committed to passenger convenience, has made it possible by using new technologies, strategic planning, and innovative methods," the statement added.
