Delhi Municipal Body Announces House-Tax Waiver Scheme: MCD has launched a house tax waiver scheme, which is more or less a comprehensive one, as said on Monday by senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in a press conference.
Tax has to be paid for the financial year 2024-25, and all the old pending taxes will be waived.

Sanjay Singh made the announcement in the presence of MCD mayor Mahesh Khinchi, deputy mayor Ravinder Bhardwaj, and Leader of the House Mukesh Goel.
There are benefits specified according to the size of the property. Properties that are less than 100 square yards will get full exemption, while those from 100 to 500 square yards will get a concession of 50 percent on tax.
Commercial properties coming in rehabilitation area will also be exempt from the tax. In addition, residents of 1,300 housing apartments will get a 25 percent concession on taxes, which is a benefit they never had.

"What AAP promised, we have delivered. We have already confirmed 12,000 MCD workers as permanent employees, and we will officially implement this decision in the upcoming MCD House meeting on the 25th," said Mayor Mahesh Khinchi, highlighting the party's commitment to public welfare.
This scheme is a significant policy change in Delhi's municipal taxation structure affecting various classes of property owners across the city.
