Delhi Directorate of Vigilance Terminates Arvind Kejriwal: The Delhi Directorate of Vigilance has terminated Bibhav Kumar's employment, citing a 2007 case against him. Special secretary, Vigilance, YVVJ Rajshekhar passed the order.
Bibhav Kumar's employment is terminated with immediate effect by the Competent Authority by Rule 5 of the Central Civil Services (Temporary Service) Rules, 1965.
It came days after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Kumar about the Delhi excise policy on Monday. As a result of Kumar's appointment in violation of Central Civil Service Rules regarding temporary appointments, his services were terminated with immediate effect, according to Special Secretary (Vigilance) YVVJ Rajasekhar's order.
It stipulated that Kumar's appointment was terminated with immediate effect for noncompliance with Central Civil Service Rules governing temporary appointments, as dispatched by Special Secretary (Vigilance) YVVJ Rajasekhar.

Kumar's recruitment procedures and regulations were not adhered to meticulously, making the appointment "illegal and void from the start."
According to the order, Mahesh Pal had accused Bibhav Kumar of obstructing him from performing his duties and abusing him.
A letter dated 29.04.23 (Page 76/C) from the Station House Officer of Sector-20 Noida Police Station informs that FIR No. 102/2007 was filed on 25.01.2007 by Mahesh Pal, who was posted at Development Authority, Sector 6, Noida.", reads the order.
"The said FIR was registered under Sections 353/504/506 of IPC against Sh. Rajeev Kwnar S’o Sh. Ram Kewal and Sh. Bibhay Kumar S/o Sh. Maheshwar Roy for obstructing the complainant, a public servant, from discharging his duty and abusing/ threatening the complainant," the order further said.
Before engaging non-government officials, the order stated that the character and antecedents of their staff should be verified.
At this point in Bibhav Kumar's trial, he is not clear from the perspective of vigilance, according to the report.
The Delhi High Court upheld the Enforcement Directorate's arrest, but Arvind Kejriwal has petitioned the Supreme Court to challenge it.
