Delhi Building Collapse After Heavy Rain: 1 Dead, 2 Injured in Model Town

1 Daily wage laborer died while 2 were badly injured after a 2-story construction Banquet Hall fell on them during the heavy rain on Saturday afternoon. The house was said to be abandoned but later clarified it was to be used as a Banquet Hall. The police are out on a search for the owner of the property.

The incident took place in Mahendru Enclave when the workers were working on the renovation of the old building. The police said that the workers were having lunch during the incident. The firefighters managed to save 3 laborers with the help of local police. 1 injured was sent to ESI hospital in Basai Darapur while the other 2 were sent.

One of the injured, 28-year-old Vishal, a JCB crane driver, died in the process of treatment. While other injured are undergoing treatment in ESI Hospital.

CL Meena who is a Delhi fire service official said that they were informed around 3 o'clock about the incident and they dispatched immediately he continued "Before our vehicles reached the spot, three people were rescued from under the building and they were shifted to hospital. This is an old banquet hall which was not in use for the last 5-7 years,"

Summing everything up about the incident it goes like this workers were repairing an abandoned building when heavy rain occurred and demolished the two-story building the workers who were at the time were having lunch when informed the fire department they dispatched immediately and got to the spot where the incident occurred as soon as they can and saved 3 men from the rumbles among which one died and 2 are seriously injured.

The rescue operation went on for 4 hours National Disaster Response Force also came with the aid of the DFS. The survivors were said to sustain serious injuries which were later cleared that sustained minor injuries and are on the way to recovery.
