Delhi BJP Accuses AAP of Digital Fraud, Demands Probe into Fake Voter Scam
The BJP in Delhi has accused AAP of digital fraud and manipulating voter rolls, focusing on the Mahila Samman Yojna and the bogus voter scams.

BJP Accuses AAP of Fake Voter Scam: On Saturday, the BJP unleashed a blistering tirade against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the AAP chief made statements alleging that the BJP was sabotaging welfare schemes announced by the Delhi government.
At a Delhi press conference, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva took Kejriwal to task, demanding accountability for the Mahila Saman Yojna and regarding so-called "fake voter scam" as "digital fraud" with the people of Delhi.

Sachdeva also challenged him to show evidence for "cabinet proposal" for Mahila Saman Yojna while accusing AAP of making false promises.
"You talked about giving Rs1,000 to women in Punjab, but it has been three years, and not a single penny has been delivered. AAP is using lies and deceitful methods to collect data," Sachdeva alleged.
He appealed to the people of Delhi not to be lured by the "trap" laid by Kejriwal, citing successful women-specific schemes such as Ladli Laxmi Yojna in BJP-ruled states.
BJP leader Parvesh Verma also criticised AAP’s Mahila Samman Yojna saying, "This scheme has neither been approved by the Delhi government nor does it have any budget allocation. It is not an official government scheme. AAP workers are collecting mobile numbers from women and claiming that money will be deposited into their accounts. When women ask how this will happen without providing bank account details, they are told it will still happen. This seems to be a setup for a major cyber fraud. I can confidently say that Arvind Kejriwal will lose his deposit in the New Delhi Assembly seat".
Delhi's BJP president came down heavily on the AAP governance in the city and claimed that it led to corruption, poor quality of water, and exorbitant bills of electricity. “If we form the government, we will deliver Mahila Samman, clean water, and affordable electricity,” he said.
Kejriwal on Saturday lashed out at the BJP and the Congress after the Lieutenant Governor ordered a probe into the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) proposed welfare schemes based on a complaint by Congress's Sandeep Dikshit. According to Kejriwal, these two parties were trying to stop women's schemes and the elderly before the elections in Delhi.

ALLEGATIONS OF FAKE VOTER SCAM
Sachdeva alleged that AAP was trying to devise schemes for manipulating electoral rolls just before Delhi Assembly elections. “We called six people, and they confirmed that 50-60 voters were registered at their addresses, all of whom were listed as Muslims, despite these being Hindu addresses,” Sachdeva said.
The Delhi BJP chief claimed that Delhi elections have a specific pattern in itself for example: in 2015, 14 lakh voters were added to the rolls; in 2019, an additional 9 lakh were added. He has accused the AAP of trying to apply this formula for the upcoming elections.
The BJP leader also said that the election commission registered cases against four people for adding names in the voters' list by way of fake documents.
“We demand physical verification of voters from the Election Commission and will write to the poll body on this issue,” he added.
Amidst the increasing tension of the political situation in Delhi, the war of words between AAP and BJP has sharpened as the parties prepare to ramp up their respective campaigns ahead of next year's Delhi Assembly elections, which have been scheduled to take place sometime before February 2024.
