Dehradun Innova Accident: Siddhesh Agarwal, the sole survivor of the Dehradun Innova accident that claimed six lives, is the father of the child who made a public appeal against spreading rumours about the accident.

BMW Race

One of the theories going around online said the kids made a BMW car race with them at night and that’s what led to the accident.

After the BMW overtook their Innova, “the ego of the kids were hurt” and they chased after it. If not for this, the accident wouldn’t have happened, the media theory said.

But the cops denied this on record, saying it’s not true.

CCTV footage released by the police showed the infamous Innova car at 1:16 am -- less than 30 minutes before the accident.

Visuals from Rajput Road, Ballupur and Sahranpur Chowk among others showed the Innova was not speeding.

The rumour is because two of the victims were thrown out of the road and decapitated. The injuries are not because they leaned out.

Another theory going around is that teenagers and college students were being taken to the accident spot by their parents to show them what happens when you speed.

Some Hindi portals claimed that the kids were shown the accident scenes at ONGC Chowk to scare them about the consequences of over speeding.

According to a Dehradun based journalist this is also not true.

Video Viral

A video went viral online showing a group of people drinking at an apartment.

Those sharing the video claimed it was the victims who were drunk before the trip.

Drunk driving was the cause of the accident some of these users claimed.

Police have not confirmed the cause of the accident and have not said anything about the victims including the driver drinking before the accident.

Also no official source has confirmed the party video yet.
