Countdown to Thailand Biggest Festival: Songkran Festival takes place between the 13th and 15th of April every year, bringing in the Thai New Year with grace and exuberance. Songkran has been recognized by UNESCO as an "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity."

Visitors from around the world come to Thailand to see "the greatest water fighting event on earth." Splashing water symbolizes cleansing and spiritual renewal.

At this time of year, Thai people make offerings to temples and pray for the long lives of their elders.

The celebration also includes community events, colourful parades, and big cultural performances.

It is Thailand's largest Songkran celebration, held from 11 to 15 April in Bangkok. Through parades and performances, the festival showcases Thailand's rich culture and tradition, including performances that are part of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

A major highlight of the festival is the Maha Songkran Parade, which features 20 grand procesions with more than 1,000 performers. In addition to Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Chon Buri, Samut Prakan, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Chiang Rai, Nong Khai, Phitsanulok, Songkhla, Buri Ram, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Phanom, Lampang, Loei, Sukhothai, Phuket, 16 provinces are involved.

A musical dancing fountain, a water tunnel, a wading pool, and a water station are all part of the Water Zone, which will be broadcast globally.
