In the path of totality, 44 million people will live, while another couple hundred million will live within 200 miles, making it the continent's biggest eclipse ever.

Watch the corona and chromosphere of the sun unveiled during totality. Admire the solar filaments and waving white streamers.
During totality, you'll be able to see a comet, along with Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. Beyond planets, Sirius, Capella, and Rigel will be visible due to the eclipse's darkness.
Totality will enter the continent at Mazatlan, Mexico, and exit the continent at Newfoundland, Canada. The moon's shadow will slash a diagonal line across North America, briefly plunging communities along the track into darkness.
Between Texas and Maine, 15 US states will experience totality, including snippets of Tennessee and Michigan. And Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Carbondale, Illinois, which experienced totality in 2017, will also experience it this year.
