Congress Karnataka Denies Leadership Change Amid Rift Rumors | CM Siddaramaiah Safe?
Statements result amid speculations regarding the change in leadership in Karnataka in the later part of this year, since some of the MLAs have recently shown some discontent towards the performance of the government.

Quashing all the speculations, the Congress on Tuesday stated that the party does not have any immediate plan to ditch Siddaramaiah who is the Karnataka Chief Minister. A senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Surjewala said, "We are not seeking opinion on leadership change in Karnataka."
He also indicated that it was the recommendation of MLAs to bring their differences out in the party only and not in the media.

There were speculations of change of leadership and also reports of dissatisfaction among the ruling Congress in the Karnataka state and amid these scenarios, AICC General Secretary in charge of Karnataka Surjewala called on party legislators. But by calling the meetings an organisational exercise by both AICC and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, Surjewala said, it is all a figment of imagination when it comes to news on change in leadership.
"This is a continuous exercise for introspection and development of the state. It is a long exercise. It will happen over a period of a month or a month-and-a-half, during which he will be meeting party legislators, MPs, defeated candidates, District Congress Committee chiefs, before meeting ministers, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister," he had said.

In the meantime, Mr Mallikarjun Kharge, who is the Congress President, clarified on Monday, that it is now up to the party high command to decide on the matter of Chief Minister. Kharge speaking to the media stated that no one beyond the top leadership can ever see on what goes on inside the high command.
"It is in the hands of the party high command. No one can say what is going on in the high command. It is left to the high command and they have the right to take further action, but no one should create problems unnecessarily," he stated.
