Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh is going to hold back the salaries of the Government if they fail to declare the liquid and fixed assets to the government on August 31, if failed to do so the employees will not get the salary for August.
Earlier last year it was the 31st of December, which was extended to 30 June and then 31 July, but only 26 percent of the 17.8 lakh employees declared their assets on the government portal Manav Sampada, Many IAS, IPS, PPS, PCS officers and employees haven't declared their assets.

Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Heads of Departments were sent a letter by Chief Secretary Manoj Singh directing them strictly that the government employees who have not yet declared their liquid and Fixed assets should not be paid any salary unless they do as the state government has ordered.
Almost 13 Lakh employees are at risk because of the order. Not only are salaries at risk but also the officials will not be promoted if they don't do as ordered. Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh is strict on the order and has advised the in-charge officials to be strict too.
This step is taken to increase transparency and accountability and we can see it is a great decision towards corruption and black money.

"This measure aims to enhance transparency and accountability within the government. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi," UP government minister Danish Azad Ansari
The Chief Secretary stated in his order that after reviewing the Manav Sampada Portal he found that more than 80% of the officials haven't complied with it and we can imagine how much of a blow it would have been to the self-respect of a high-posted minister and insult to the order when it has been postponed thrice now.
The harsh step was necessary and we will get to know how the decision will play out in the long run will it create uncertainty for officials or make them more disciplined and honest towards their work?
