India Launches First Reusable Hybrid Rocket: The first Reusable Hybrid Manned Indian rocket RHUMI 1 has been successfully launched by a start up from Tamil Nadu on Saturday. From the mobile launch pad located in Thiruvidandhai, Chennai, the rocket has been mainly for increasing research on the issues of global warming and climate change.
The RHUMI rocket that was launched from Thiruvidanthai on the East Coast Road near Chennai in the early hours of today is driven by a hybrid motor with generic fuel and her parachute release is through an electrically triggered mechanism.

What rocket carry and why?
The rocket launched this morning had three CUBE satellites with the function of tracking and collecting information about the conditions in the atmosphere including the cosmic radiation intensity and UV radiation, air quality indicators.
Further in, it launched 50 Pico satellites to study diverse conditions of the atmosphere such as accelerometer measurements, height, and O3 to analyse more tendencies.
Who is behind Mission RHUMI 2024?
Mission RHUMI 2024 is led by Anand Megalingam, founder of Space Zone India with technical consultation given by ISRO veteran, Mylswamy Annadurai, who served as Director of ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC) as well as project director of India’s Moon Mission “Chandrayaan”.

More about the launch
The rocket was 3.5 meters tall and was launched at about 7.25 am, five minutes behind the planned launching time of 7.00 am.
Originally developed as a sounding rocket, it got to an altitude of just about 35 kilometres. The team is on-site to recover it, it is a rocket that is reusable.
To manage the risk from strong winds and gusts, the rocket at Space Launch Complex 16 in the essentially embarked area was launched at a 70-degree inclination instead of the 89-degree inclination that was planned and the rocket used a mobile launcher near the coast.
