7 Maoists Killed, Police Seize Weapons
7 Maoists Killed: A joint operation by security personnel and the Narayanpur, Dantewada, and Bijapur police forces killed seven Maoists at Abujhmaad forest and near the Narayanpur and Bijapur border in Chattisgarh.
The operation was carried out on Wednesday night and on Thursday at 11 am a blow of guns took place and was carried out till the evening.
There were about 1,000 security guards from Bastar, Narayanpur, and Dantewada working on this mission.
As per the statement, two boys were killed and recovered by Narayanpur police and in the evening five more bodies of Maoists were recovered by Dantewada police.
Rai added in a statement, “Two bodies were recovered by the Narayanpur police in the morning, while in the evening, Dantewada police, led by deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Rahul Uike and DSP Ashish Netam, recovered five bodies. Five weapons were also seized, but the grade of weapons is yet to be ascertained.”
After this operation, a total of 112 Naxalites have been killed this year.
Officials said that police also took seven guns and other items from the scene and the fight was still going on until late that night.
The Maoists' identity has not been found yet.
It is said that about 12 senior members of the Maoists are still camping in the forest.
On April 30, ten Naxalites were killed when police attacked them in a bush near the border of Narayanpur and Kanker districts.
