Manoj Tiwari gets nominated for North East Delhi Lok Sabha seat, and a lot of people show up.
BJP Manoj Tiwari Nominates for North East Delhi Lok Sabha Seat: On Wednesday, BJP candidate Manoj Tiwari filed his nomination papers for the North-East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
Tiwari held a road show in the National Capital before filing his nomination, which was attended by Rajnath Singh and other senior BJP figures.
The world is seeing that India has become a powerful country in the world under the leadership of PM Modi. Rajnath Singh stated during a roadshow that India is moving forward with a new thinking.
"India's reputation in the world has increased rapidly," he added.
PTI reported quoting Rajnath Singh, "The ‘massive’ crowd gathered for Tiwari's nomination assured him that the people have made up their minds to re-elect him from the Northeast Delhi constituency."
The North-East Delhi Constituency is being contested by Manoj Tiwari against Congress candidate Kanhaiya Kumar.
The former president of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) is Kanhaiya Kumar.
As he filed his nominations, he expressed confidence that he would win due to a historically large turnout.
The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's support contributed to an increased vote margin from the previous election.
"The nomination process went smoothly. More than 50,000 people came out to support me," Tiwari told news agency ANI.
Tiwari said the Congress party is tangled in internal conflicts.
Numerous high-profile figures have joined the BJP ahead of the elections, with the party actively campaigning in the region.
"I thank the public of my area. This is the third I have filed nomination and historically large number of people came with me. I believe I will win with an even bigger margin this time," says Manoj Tiwari after filing nomination.
Manoj Tiwari further says, "The presence of Rajnath Singh for my nomination filing is no less than a blessing for me. He was there with me last time as well, and my vote margin increased from 1.5 lakh to 3.75 lakh... The response I have been getting from the people of my constituency assures me that a new record will be created this time."
He defeated Anand Kumar from AAP by 1,44,084 votes in the 2014 Indian general elections for North East Delhi (Lok Sabha constituency).
In the 2019 general elections, Tiwari, a BJP candidate, won by 3.63 lakh votes over Sheila Dikshit, an Indian National Congress candidate.
There will be one round of voting for all seven Parliamentary seats on May 25.
