BJP leader Girish Mahajan met Maharashtra’s caretaker CM Eknath Shinde today. Shinde who was unwell with throat infection and fever is recovering well.
NCP’s Ajit Pawar flew to Delhi today. Eknath Shinde and Fadnavis are in Mumbai meeting their party workers and leaders as the suspense continues over the CM’s name. Official announcement is expected on Wednesday, December 4

Meanwhile Eknath Shinde’s son Shrikant today denied being in the race for the post of deputy CM saying “I am not in the race for any ministerial post in the state.”
A meeting of newly elected BJP MLAs is scheduled tomorrow morning at Vidhan Bhawan in south Mumbai, says a party functionary.
Shinde's son rejects Dy CM buzz: Amid speculation that he is in contention for the post of deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde's son Shrikant Shinde on Monday said he has “no desire for a position in power”, adding that he is not in the race for any ministerial position in the state. “Even after the Lok Sabha elections, I had a chance to become a minister in the central government. But thinking of working for the party organisation, I refused the ministerial post even then. I have no desire for a position in power. I make it clear once again that I am not in the race for any ministerial position in the state. I will work only for my Lok Sabha constituency and Shiv Sena,” said Shrikant Shinde, who represents the represents the Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency.

BJP has announced that the new Maharashtra CM will take oath on December 5 evening at Azad Maidan in Mumbai with PM Narendra Modi and other BJP and NDA leaders in attendance.
During his meeting with Eknath Shinde, Mahajan said they discussed the preparations for the swearing in of next Maharashtra CM. He also said there is no conflict within the Mahayuti leadership. Mahajan said their conversation was good and will continue to work together for the state.
