Uttar Pradesh to Launch Online Vehicle Booking: In preparation for the Mahakumbh Mela 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government has brought forth an e-rickshaw and e-auto booking portal, again with the goal of making it a Green Mahakumbh.
The announcement of the initiative is made public from the office of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as a move of the government toward ensuring a convenient travel experience that would be easy and safe for devotees that would attend the Mela, which is observed only once every 12 years.
E-vehicles will be similar to Ola and Uber services; it opens for booking on December 15 and contracts at a fixed charge at different key locations such as railway stations, bus stands, airport and hotels, PTI reported.

While the function of the e-vehicle will ease up local transportation, it will also be a step that fits into the UP government's vision of a Green Mahakumbh towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
The initiative even receives little support from private transporters and adds value to offering devotees a "cheap and green" option.
Moreover, the taxi service will also feature a "Pink Taxi" provision, which will have only women drivers.
Indeed, the 45 crore devotees expected to flock to this state would mark the 2025 Mahakumbh Mela.
"Over 7,000 roadway buses and 550 shuttle buses will operate, while the railways will run 3,000 trains, including about 1,000 additional ones," the CMO's statement read.
It will initiate this e-vehicle programme along the entire stretch of Uttar Pradesh. Comfy E Mobility-A startup will provide online booking facilities for e-rickshaw and e-auto services driven by trained and verified drivers.
Moreover, communication barrier due to language will be resolved through training of the drivers in Google Voice Assistance.

As explained by Manu Gupta, the founder and Director of the startup, the initiative aims to bring about safe and environmentally friendly app-based vehicle services for the devotees from inside the nation and from the rest of the world who will come for the Mela.
Meanwhile, the company's CEO, RK Chauhan, said that they are committed to "reducing air pollution and increasing employment opportunities by introducing eco-friendly electric vehicles as taxis."
"Hindus from across the globe, people from various communities will also attend the Mahakumbh in 2025. This initiative will not only enhance their experience but also carry the message of environmental conservation and cultural awareness," Chauhan added.
Starting with a fleet of 300 e-rickshaws, the initiative will cover the entire region of Prayagraj and the Kumbh Mela.
"All vehicles will be GPS-tracked and fully enclosed for added safety. The fare system will be transparent, calculated on a per-kilometer basis, offering relief from inflated charges by local rickshaw drivers. In case of any inconvenience, a dedicated call centre will be available for devotees to file complaints," the statement from CM Yogi's office read.
