Government has announced that while schools and anganwadi centres in Bengaluru district are closed, colleges are open. But principals of most of these degree, post-graduation, diploma colleges and ITIs have been given a set of guidelines to follow to ensure students' safety.

In the rain-hit Bengaluru, BBMP has set up 24X7 control rooms in all 8 zones and a helpline number (1533) to report rain related issues.
Heavy rain also uprooted trees. Ashoka Pillar road was closed temporarily as a tree fell and blocked the road. IMD says a low pressure area over Bay of Bengal is the reason for the rain.
“Traffic towards airport is severely affected. Commuters are requested to plan their travel accordingly and use alternate routes,” a traffic police official urged.
